Dexter Joseph is one of the most talented pan players and arrangers in the country. He started his career, at he age of 13, in Ebony Steel Band; his father was one of the founder members.
In his teenage years he arranged for 'Ebony' and 'Glissando' steel bands. This led to work in many theatre productions including 'Mass Carib', 'Glory' and 'The Pan Beaters'. He played on the recording 'Integration Octet' a piece composed for four pan players and string quartet by Felix Cross.
Dexter frequently writes his own music for the 'Harrow Steel Orchestra' who have performed with Guy Barker, Mark Bassey and Simon Mulligan.
A versitile all-rounder who can play any kind of pan in any style, he has performed with Boogsie Sharpe and 'Phase II' in the Trinidad Panorama, and on jazz guitarist Ciyo Browns' debut album 'So Inviting'.
For the last 10 years Dexter has been teaching pan in Harrow Schools, and has inspired many of his students, and their parents, to teach or perform in the pan world. He also runs 3 bands for the 'Harrow School of Young Musicians' and the occasional parent/teacher band and the brilliant stell band 'Traffic Jam'.
